Yesterday on facebook I saw that one of friends posted this: I Love Life.
It made me stop for a moment and think, am I lovin' life.
Not so much right now. I could make a long list of things that aren't quite right. Eye infections, bad crowns, politics with my kids sports, working, not being able to figure out a hook for my query etc., but what I should be doing is making a list of things that are right.
3 beautiful kids
1 awesome husband
A great extended family
A home to live in
A computer to work on
A car to drive
A soccer team to play on
The list goes on and on. Yeah, sure things aren't perfect. I don't have the house I want. I have to work. Other kid's parents drive me crazy. But what it comes down to is not letting that stuff get you down.
This weekend is Canadian Thanksgiving, so I'm going to try to put on a happier face and focus on the positives. Then I can put on my face book that I love life.

A happy, wonderful post, Patti. Way to see the silver lining. =] Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
Sometimes life is hard to love. I find myself grumbling at times. Especially when I want to get my revisions done faster than I am. =)
Have a great Thanksgiving Patti! =D
It's so important to find the good stuff even though something you have to push other stuff to the side. Happy Thanksgiving.
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
Always look ahead to what wonders are in store for you. Kuddos to you for taking the time to take stock of what's good in your life. And happy Thanksgiving from one Canuck to another!
So easy to concentrate on the negative when there really is a lot of good things to find, too. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
Good for you for thinking of the positives. It's not always easy. Happy Thanksgiving.
Yes, you must think of the positives. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
Also I gave you the One Lovely Blog award on my blog
I hear you. Sometimes we just need to step back take a breath and remember all the good things.
Thanks for posting this. Sometimes I focus way too much on the negative side of life when in reality, it's pretty good for me. I need to be grateful for what I've been blessed with.
Anyway Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! This is a good way to go into the weekend, Patti - positive about the lives we have. :-)
Thanks for this post today!:) I always have to tell myself to stop and be thankful for everything I have. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! :)
It's so easy to focus on the things we don't have or want. It takes conscious effort to appreciate all that we have. Good to hear that you put things into perspective and didn't allow yourself to get mired down.
Awesome post! It's so hard to remember the good things in our lives when we focus on the bad. Thanks for the reminder!
I'm sorry life's been dealing you a bad hand lately. That sucks :(
BUT I totally applaud you for wanting to keep your chin up this weekend and enjoy being with your family. You do have some wonderful things to be thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Saw you mentioned on Melissa's site and as I love visiting other blogs I thought I'd stop by and say hello. Nice to meet you, I've enjoyed my visit.
We have so much to be thankful for even when life it tough!
Happy Thanksgiving Patti!! I love that Canadians celebrate at a different time than Americans. That makes it like having two thanksgivings for those of us with Canadian blogging friends!
There's always much to complain about and wish were better, but always more to be thankful for. What could outweigh the pros of 3 beautiful kids and an awesome husband??
I like your attitude. Life's not perfect but we can still love it. I'm not perfect but I'm glad my family still loves me. It would be a rough life if we couldn't love imperfect things.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm sorry you've been feeling down lately but glad that you are focusing on the positive now. Have a great thanksgiving!!
Ah yes, excellent advice. I was keeping a list of "blessings" earlier this year, over the summer I forgot all about it. Thanks for the reminder!
And I love this post! It's so important to happiness to take a moment and be thankful and aware of all the goodness.
