She has it down to a science--she checks very exact places in a novel and reads a page or two from these spots (what can I say she's a mathematician and does everything with precision) and then makes a decision whether to read the book or not. I, on the other hand, can hardly force myself to read the book blurb for fear it will "spoil the story for me."<br /><br />Often, she picks the books, and we both read them. :)Connie Kellerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10774616533630985219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4984184121584258371.post-2005958290471967892013-01-30T16:14:44.469-08:002013-01-30T16:14:44.469-08:00Very intriguing, Patti. I used to download the first chapter from a book to see if I'll like it, but I can't get it off my iPod when I do that. So I don't do it anymore. I rely on work of mouth when buying books. :)Stinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11415189347501942340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4984184121584258371.post-49779281224056208702013-01-30T11:16:27.091-08:002013-01-30T11:16:27.091-08:00Thanks for doing this. I tend to read the first pages. ...Nicely written! <br /><br />I tend to read the first pages. If I can't get through those, I don't buy. It's a huge burden to think about when I write - those first sentences and paragraphs have such importance.
