Why I've been gone

It's been a while since I've posted anything. There have been two reasons for my lack of presence from the blogasphere.

1. I haven't had much to say. A few times I've opened a blank blog and searched for something other than the usual. I wanted to be able to impart words of wisdom, encouragement, something. But nothing came besides, wow, this is still really hard (which everyone already knows).

2. I haven't had the time I've wanted to be able to visit your blogs and I'm a big believer in reciprocating. If you comment on my blog, I comment on your blog.

Okay maybe I have three. My kid's basketball schedule has been insane (8 games this weekend alone). But Christmas break is coming and I'm looking forward to some less scheduled days.

Meanwhile here are a few things I've been thinking about.

In person critique groups are awesome. The brain storming that goes on during the three hours we meet every month is invaluable to me.

I absolutely love being a mom and even though it's busy, my favorite time is watching my kids play basketball even though half the time I'm shaking because I'm so nervous for them. And since today is National Hug Your Child Day, I can't wait until I get home to give them a big one.

Speaking of hugging:

I was in the car going to pick my son up from school when I heard the tragic news this weekend and it absolutely broke my heart. Today I read a great post from my friend Heidi that really touched me. She's such a great writer and a great person. Often, I wish we didn't live so far away from each other.

I know what its like to fade from the ether and feel guilty about not blogging. Glad you're back. :)

It's been a sad weekend. I've been so out of sorts as well. Nothing seems all that important right now.

Welcome back. Sounds like a great time to resolve to a New Year's Resolution!

I've done a lot of hugging of my kids this weekend. I would have hugged my hubby, but he was sick (really bad cold?) and had a DO NOT TOUCH ME policy. :)

You are so sweet, Patti. I wish we lived closer. I'd totally be at your kids' basketball games just so I could chat with you.

I've gotten to blogging only about once a month or so. I just didn't have the heart to give it up, but not the time to devote to it... or, sometimes, anything worth saying. So yeah - we are in the same boat.

Being busy with kids is the best busy. I've been at concerts and auditions and rehearsals all month - 19 1/2 hours just last week - for my kids. Loved every minute.

I am burned out! The hackers, the evil, the bleh. But I love my blogger buds like you. So I go on. Though, I am curtailing it in the new year to get my MS's on the ready. Plus, I'm moving to WP. That in itself will take some learning.

The Friday news was bad. The little ones. So innocent. :( *deep sigh*

I've missed you. Glad you're back.

I get in blogging blocked spots sometimes too. A couple things that help get back in the groove are posts where you link a handful of articles you've found. Also, having several topical series is good too. I will be doing some more homophone posts in the new year, and maybe some more "editor on call" pieces.

I've been on and off the blogging for a while too. I guess it happens. ;)

I'll have to go check Heidi's post. Thanks for sharing Patti. ;)

I haven't blogged as much lately, either. Just haven't had much wisdom to impart.

Just because you have determined who your market it, doesn't mean you are done Make them work for you by putting them into action and don't forget: Knowledge isn't power, it is putting our knowledge in to action so it works for us is what empowers us!Until next time You can even order for everyone in the family or, as is popular these days, have matching ones that you and your significant other can wear to the games

Another thing people should outsource more often is the things they don't have time to learn We have to remove the labels that we use to classify events, people, and things because it affects our response They opened the Bible, found it and began to use it everyday in prayer Though one may not make explicit verbal claims of such competence but it manifests itself in manifold ways which result in unprofessionalism

I think sometimes being busy can block you. Yes? And wow. I didn't know about national hug your child day, but I've been doing A LOT of hugging lately...

I was just like you in that I heard the news on the way to pick up my elementary school kids from school. It was awful. ((hugs)) all around.

Have a wonderful, relaxing holiday, Patti! <3

Blogs don't need to be hard. And we're here to read about you. Whatever you are doing. Like eight games in one weekend? Yikes.
