And so it begins

I know a lot of us look forward to back to school time so we can go back to what we love - writing. But it hasn't been so easy for me. Both of my boys are now in high school and where we live that means both need a laptop. For the first week of school, the younger one used mine until we figured out that we could rent one at school. Then my older son's computer's hard drive crashed, so he's had to use mine this week. This means I only get writing done at night, but there's another problem. Sports.

And so my year begins. Basketball, volleyball, soccer, piano lessons, church youth group. It's going to be crazy.

That is why I haven't been commenting on blogs, or writing much. I'm having a really hard time figuring out a schedule. But now my son's computer is fixed and I should have mine on my days off work. So I just need to schedule my time better. Let the writing begin again.

So how about you? Are you having a hard time getting back into writing after the summer break?

Sports are killing my time too!!! I REALLY need to dive back into writing, too. *sigh* Next week... I will do so next week! *stomp foot in determination!*

I hear you! I have one son in high school and three kids who live at home and attend college (we have a great university down the street). They're coming and going all day long, and it's been hard to find time to focus. But I've finally got a schedule in place. Yay!

Yes! I never thought I would say this, but I am having trouble getting into the swing on things. Part of this is because I'm taking two online course that have *gasp* homework as well as materials to be read.

The back to school rush is HARD. I'm adjusting too. I should have just taken a blogging break, I've been so flakey.

Hang in there!

I don't know what I would do without my lappy! But with five kids, it's always in use, so I totally understand.

I'm trying to get back into the writing, but it's been harder than I planned.

Transitions are always hard. Scheduling helps to a degree, but re-establishing a habit takes a few weeks, so be patient with yourself. :-)

We're a pretty low-key family. We aren't involved in a lot of activities during the summer. The only one this year was softball for my daughter. But we are all very, very glad to be back to the school schedule. None of us like summer!

Hi Patti! I wanted to stop by and thank you for visiting Writers Ally and entering my giveaway. I really appreciate it. I'm following you now.

And yes, I can totally relate to the angst of getting back into the swing of writing once school is back in session. I have four children - one in every school this year: college, high school, junior high, & elementary. Phew... They all play sports from X-country to soccer to ice hockey to baseball. My daughter also dances. I have yet to find my balance this Fall.

Yes, I'm having a difficult time with it.

When school starts, it means the opposite for me. Just less time to write! Good luck getting back into things, though. :)

All the best with getting back into things. Ever since my daughter went off to Uni, I have no conception when school finishes or when a new term starts!

I don't have children, there's not much difference between summer and fall for me.

I hope you can find a routine soon.

It's good you can rent computers for school use. Man, how times have changed.

My schedule is still out of whack, but I hope it will settle over the next couple of weeks.
