So, how have y'all been?

I took the month of August to spend some time with my kids, family, and manuscript.

My son won bronze at the Western Canada Summer Games in basketball.

We spent two weeks as a family enjoying Whistler, Vancouver, Whidbey Island, and Seattle.

And we just spent this labor day weekend with my extended family rafting down the river.

But...

My manuscript didn't get touched very much. I didn't read, I didn't write and I only did a little editing.

So, I guess two out of three isn't too bad.

Now that it's September and my kids are back in school, I'm hoping silence will once again reign in my house, and I will be able to get some things accomplished, like finish my book and get some queries out there.

That's my number one priority then I will either edit my other book or start something new.

Did anything exciting happen while I was gone? And what is your first priority for this new school year.?

PS: I'm really happy to be back and catching up with all of you.

Congrats for taking some time off. I took July and Aug. off as well.

I'm getting ready to self-publish my book on Kindle. Working on the rest in the series to get them out as quickly as possible. My daughter went back to school Aug. 10 this year, so I've had blissful peace for a month. I've gotten so much work done.

It's Heaven when the house is quiet.

Welcome back!

My kids have been back in school for almost a month, so I've been enjoying the quiet during the day and trying to get my first draft finished. I hope you have lots of time to finish yours, too!

I'm glad you're back! I just got really lazy on my blog vacation. ;)

Welcome back, Patti! Not much new here. I'm back to school (work) and not getting much writing done. I did have an awesome edit by an editor at Bancroft Press and am eager to begin revising, though. :-)

Sometimes taking a complete break is really for the best. It gives you time to recharge your batteries. :) I'm glad you're posting again though! I finished editing my WiP a couple days ago and it's about to go to my CP's. That's pretty much all new with me.

Hi Patti. Your August sounds better than mine. I'm back too. Your next chapters is in the mail.

I had the winning bid this summer in a book launch auction. The prize was a full ms crit and 30 minute phone call from one of my dream agents. I didn't get much editing done over the past month, so had to finish it off this weekend to send to her. I did, though, start planning my new project while on vacation. :D

Welcome back pal -o- mine. We had passport troubles with one of our kids so the Ireland vacation was postponed. *sob* Still have not received her passport. *sob*

I have not written much. Revised a picture book and that is it!

Sounds like you had an awesome August!

Congrats to your son! :)

Welcome back and can't wait to hear about what you work on this fall.

I've been busy with the excitement of my first book deal. Yay!

It sounds like you had a successful break. You wouldn't want your productivity to ruin it, would you?

Good. Me neither. Now I need to get back to writing.

It's good to take time off, even from writing. Besides, as far as I'm concerned, spending time with family, making memories, is more important than anything else.

What a lovely month! I'm glad you took that time with your family. It's important.

Nothing much going on. :)

YAY!! I'm glad you're back! :D
We've missed you!
Too bad that now that you're back I'm going to enter a blog hiatus next week, lol. I'll be going to the beach with not too much internet access.
And if you had a good time with the ones you love, then the mss can wait, right? (mine will have to wait this month!)

Congratulations to your son! And Whistler is so beautiful even when the hill is not full of skis. Maybe even more so. I started a novel project this summer and looking forward to keeping up the momentum of writing.

And good luck when you start querying! It's tough, but I'm sure you'll do great! :)

I say you definitely chose the most important two out of the three, as well. Hope you guys had a fantastic time!
