Good News All Around

Last week I took some time off and boy did I miss a lot. There was good news all around the blog sphere. Karen Hooper got a book deal, Natalie Whipple announced a book deal. Congratulations to both.

And here I thought things slowed down in the summer.

Both ladies are great examples of hard work paying off, which just gives me further motivation.

How about you do you get motivated when you hear about someone getting a book deal?

I'm excited for both of these ladies! I'm so happy for them, it makes me wonder how happy I'll be when (if!) I get a book deal. I think that's pretty good motivation. ;)

I agree! I love hearing good news! I heard a lit mag editor talk a few weeks ago and give the very grim statistics of publication, and I wanted to stand up and say, "But people ARE getting published, and if you write well and are educated about how to go about putting your best foot forward, you are miles ahead of the others... so stats don't really count!"

Yeah... that's my rant. :) Enough negativity!

Aww, you're so sweet. Thanks for mentioning me!

I have to say, I wondered if I'd ever see the day when I'd announce my first book deal. If I can do it, anyone can.

I just loved hearing about both of those book deals because I think they've both worked really hard for them. I think persistence is the name of the game.

Depends on what the book is about. :-) If it's a historical fiction book set in WW2, then yeah, I get really motivated to get my novel done! LOL
