Intro or Extro

About a month ago I had personality training at my job. I know that sounds weird, but I really found it made me a lot more self aware of myself.

I answered about 90 questions and based on my answers I was put into four different categories - one of them being introversion.

I've always thought of myself as an introvert, except in certain situations, but the instructor explained being and introvert or an extrovert this way. Most people can go to parties and socialize, but it's how you feel afterwards that indicates what you are. If you're still buzzing when you get home and can't sit down, you're an extrovert. If you feel completely exhausted, you're an introvert.

We all know the cliched image of a writer. Locked up in a room, plunking away at the keys on their keyboard not talking to anyone. But with all the marketing and social media that seems to be required with being an author, I think those days of solitude are over.

Are you an extrovert or an introvert? Does the thought of social media make you tired or excited?

Introvert for sure. Social media can sometimes be a bit overwhelming for me but connecting with people makes it worth it. And my online self is a little more outgoing than my in-person self. I think it's all that time to think and edit what you say.

both. It really depends on the company. I used to be full on extrovert, but the older i get, the more i lean towards introvert.
So maybe i'm just old or something

I always heard it's where you get your energy or how you rejuvenate.

I believe I'm an introvert with extrovert skills. ;)

I like people, I just recharge best when I'm all by myself.

An introvert without a doubt - and even more so as I get older.

That is SO interesting. I've always called myself an introvert, but people who meet me are always convinced I'm an extrovert. BUT it is hard work for me, and I definitely return home exhausted from being "on".

Oddly, I'm an introvert (yes, after SOME gatherings I feel exhausted and just want to be alone), but social media doesn't bother me. At least the kind where I can write and communicate that way! Don't think I'd like to vlog or anything

Phew! Just the thought of going to a party wears me out! :)

I would always say I'm an introvert. I think all tests have shown that too. But there are times when I am slightly buzzing over having not totally fallen on my face in a social setting. It wears off pretty quickly, though, and then I need my cone of silence. :)

I consider myself a socially successful introvert. I need a lot of time alone, but I also love a good party! Go figure!

Have a great weekend!

I'm an Introvert, trying to make folks believe I'm an extrovert. Like my pal Jill^ socially successful due to I don't know what. Maybe my writing has brought some of it out of me. As a kid, I'd walk around the corner to my best friends house and stand on the porch until someone noticed I was out there. (Afraid to knock on the door.) Pitiful, I know. Patti, let us stay introverts. It's good for our writing. :-)

I think I"m both. It depends on who I'm with and what we're doing!
