What comes first?

What comes first for you – the book or the movie?

Do you like to read the book before you see the movie, or do you like to see the movie before you read the book?

I like reading the book first. Happy 40th!! And, my computer is doing strange things too.

Read first. If I see the movie or show first it is hard to get to the book. And even when you do, it isn't ever as you would have pictured it on your own.
Hope the glitch fixes soon!

If I'm going to do both, always the book first! BUT... sometimes I have no intention to read the book, but that doesn't mean I can't see the movie. :)

I got a new computer this summer. I can't believe what all I was missing by using my old one! And yes... 40 is a big deal. In a really good way. :)

Book! I almost never read the books after I've seen the movie...

It's a big part of why I've only read the *first* HP book. (And enjoyed it very much! :o) <3

Book for sure. In fact, if I see a movie is coming out and I haven't read the book then I will read it before I let myself see the movie.

Let me throw my two cents in ... again.
ALWAYS read the book.
I know a LOT of parents who have made their kids read Harry Potter before watching it. Percy Jackson as well. I read Water for Elephants knowing it was going to be a movie soon and wanting to make sure I'd read the book.
I will say though, that the movies are never quite as good, but I'm glad for the extra knowledge that comes from reading the book first.

THE BOOK. The movie is NEVAH EVAH as good. :)

And on your previous post: Tangled looks really good, too. And Narnia is due out in December. HUGS Patti. :)

PS: I finished my synopsis. WOO-HOO

Good question. I know most people would say they would rather read the book first - however, I usually like watching the movie first. Since the movies usually aren't as good as the book, then it makes me appreciate the story even more if I read it last and leaves a better impact on me. =)

If I see the movie first, I don't bother with the book. But if I read the book and loved it, I'll see the movie, and hope it's somewhat the same as the book.

Book first, definitely. Like Stina said, of I see the movie first, I might not bother with the book.

I like reading the book first, too. And of course, the movie is rarely like the book.

Book first, but if I see the movie first (like Twilight or Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief) then I have almost NO motivation to read the book!

I like to read it first but then most time after I read it, I'm no longer interested in seeing the movie.
