In need of a pick me up

As of Tuesday it has snowed nonstop and I'm quite tired of it. I'm in need of a pick me up from the lack of sun. I'm thinking a good movie might be in order.

Except I hate crowds, so I'll probably just rent a video.

But there are some good movies coming out.

1. Harry Potter - you know the one with the wizard boy.
2. Voyage of the Dawn Treader - the obvious cast
3. Love & other Drugs - with Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal
4. Restless - with the girl from Alice in Wonderland. Apparently she meets a boy who likes to go to funerals and talks to a dead Japanese fighter pilot. (She's also the new Jane Eyre - not sure when that one is coming out)

How about you do movies give you an escape from everyday life and if so what movie are you most looking forward to?

I'm definitely a movie buff. It rains a lot where I am (Seattle), so what better way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon than at the movies?

Really looking forward to Harry Potter. There's also this Liam Neeson movie coming out which looks great, and another one starring James Franco. Can't wait!

I totally totally totally totally love movies. My hubby and I like to go every Friday night if we can swing it. We've been married for 19 years and sometimes we think "should we do something else? you know, mix it up?" and the answer is always NAH!! We love movies. They relax us and make us laugh/think/feel. They are awesome.

I haven't heard of Dawn Treaders ~ will have to check that out. I'm interested in the Nicholas Cage movie - the witch one - but I really don't know much about it. Oh. I want to see TRON. I can't think of any others right now ... OH! Gulliver's Travels with Jack Black, lol. :D

New Jane Eyre? Awesome.
I always wait til the crowds tone down. That, and I NEED to see Harry Potter. And I love Anne Hathaway... I think you just cost me a lot of money in babysitters, gas and movies...

HP 9 days and counting - (we want to go as a family and we will all be together to celebrate Sonshine's birthday then.)
I have a low pleasure threshold when it comes to movies: I love everything from budget arthouse through to blowing-things-up blockbusters :)

I hear you! Winter days are great for snuggling up and watching a movie or reading a great book! I'm looking forward to Voyage of Dawn Teader too.

Harry Potter but that goes without saying.

I haven't enjoyed the other Chronicle films but will doubtless get to see The Dawn Treader if only to see what they have down with it.

No, the film I am most looking forward to is Gulliver's Travels with Jack Black.

My condolences on the excessive amounts of snow. I firmly believe snow is evil. Boo snow!

I soooo want to see Love & Other Drugs!! It just better not make me cry, that's all I'm sayin.

I watch a good tv drama when I'm in the mood to escape, or a really good book.

Going out to the movies are too expensive for my family. We have Netflix so we'll either watch one of the movies we get in the mail, or one of the instant stream ones that we can watch on the computer (it has a 27-inch LCD screen).

:)

I'm going to HP this weekend. So excited to see something great.

I love to take a break and just watch the stories while I relax. =) Have a great weekend Patti!

Snow!!! I'm so ready for it now, but I think the word is a curse word in our house after last winter. So I'll wish very quietly!

I'm not sure a movie theater is the way to go if you're sun deprived! :) Still, Harry is my only read need this fall. I'm just trying to figure out when I can go, since all my weekends are already full. I may have to sneak off when the kids are in school. They'd kill me, but it would be worth it. :)

When I'm feeling blue, I will pop in one of my old classic movies from the 1940s: State Fair will put me in a good mood every single time. Ditto with Laura. Both star Dana Andrews and I just love him.

More modern movies...well, depends. Some I really want to see but there is so much junk out there anymore that I tend to go back to the classics!

The crowd for opening night was fun but I donno about the rest of the weekend crowds at the movies.
Hope you find something good to rent, a nice fire to cozy down by, and some yummy warm drink to enjoy in your snow!(blech!)

I love movies, but I wait for them to come out on DVD.

There's a new Jane Eyre movie coming out?? How have I not heard of this? That's like my favorite book EVER. I must search the internet for it now...

Oh, I bet you are tired of that. I'm not ready for any snow in the least!

Once in a while a good movie is exactly what's in order. In fact just today I needed that sort of break, and I watched Catch and Release (with Jennifer Garner) for the first time. It was such a sweet and touching movie.

Love and Other Drugs looks so good!

Hugs to you, Patti.

I don't see a lot of movies, but I'm looking forward to seeing #1 and #2. I prefer to cozy up with a great book. :D

For Halloween Tim (Hubby), bought me another DVD collection of I Love Lucy. I like to take a break and watch an episode. She cracks me up.

The new Jane Eyre has a wonderful (long) promo out...I think you can find it on YouTube even. It looks very good. I *think* it comes out in April...definitely in the spring. Judy Dench is also in it.

There are indeed good movies out right now, and we did go see the HP movie. It was good. (long, but good)
And even though we went on Saturday matinee, it was sold out and people were coughing and and talking and their cell phones were buzzing. You might want to wait until the crowds thin.

Are they remaking Jane Eyre again? That would be like the fourth time in ten years. Not complaining.
