Thanks

Thanks so much for all the words of encouragement yesterday. This community always amazes me. I've never met any of you, but your support means a great deal. It's wonderful to know I have somewhere to turn when things aren't going right.

Onto today. It's still snowing here, part of the ground is covered in the white stuff, but green grass is waiting to emerge, making me believe that once the snow is gone, we'll have a green city and spring can finally begin.

Last night I read through my first six chapters and thought they were really good. In fact, I skimmed through the next few and didn't think I'd have to change much, but chapters 11 and 12 are a different story (they are still covered in snow). I'm hoping once I do my re-writes, I'll have some great chapters.

My job this weekend is to get past the middle. I like my ending and think I will just need a few tweaks, but the middle may need a scene added and a few scenes modified.

I also have a soccer game on Saturday, which will be interesting seeing as we haven't even been outside yet and we have a new coach who doesn't know all of our names. Wish me luck.

Have a good weekend.

Good luck Patti. Middles are always the hardest but I know you'll figure it out.

Sounds like there's much promise in your current WiP. Best of luck with the middle chapters, always the most challenging section. And good luck with the soccer game -- I loved playing in school and miss the game. Enjoy!

*virtual cookies* Because everyone needs virtual cookies to make it through the middle-part-of-the story edits. =)

I never understood what writers meant about the middle part being so hard to write until I got to that part in my MS!

Good luck with your revisions and with your game;)

I wish you every success with the re-write and edit. Keep going. The journey takes every scrap of sweat and toil and a whole lot of luck so I wish you that too.

I can't believe you still have snow. Your weathermen know it's May, right?

I find all the parts of a book hard. :)

I've had someone reading through one section for me a few times and every time we bat ideas back and forth I get more excited about making it really work. I have to say the best thing I've learned is to welcome critiques and look forward to them as opportunities to knock it out of the park.... that has made a world of difference to me. If I go in saying, "This is utter poo... can you help?" I'm much better able to handle the comments than if I think it's great.

It sounds like this is where you're at. So watch out! Great things are going to happen!!

:) Good luck on your game. Sounds like it will be interesting.

It snowed here yesterday, and my kids were NOT happy about it. Thankfully, today is much nicer. Good luck with your middle edits and your soccer game - kick butt! :-)
