Do you ever wonder?

Do you ever wonder if a day will come when you get your chapter back from a beta reader and they say, "brilliant. I wouldn't change a thing."?

Do you ever wonder if you'll ever be able to say without a shadow of a doubt that it's ready?

Do you ever wonder if you'll ever be able to write a chapter without using the word "look"?

Do you ever lose sleep thinking about what you say on your blog?

Do you think that you could be a millionaire if you invented a pill to put your kids to sleep without harming them?

Do you ever look at the list of things you have to do and just go to bed?

Do you ever get tired before 9:00pm and want to go to bed even though your kids are still up?

Can you tell I haven't got much sleep this week. I hope to catch up on the weekend, but with 9 gallons of paint sitting in my basement and a book that's screaming to be done, I don't think that's possible.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I'll be painting, editing, and reading, along with watching four basketball games.

I wonder all of those things, nearly every day. My brain turned off at about six today. I couldn't spell words that I know and think of words or string together sentences to tell my kids to go to bed.

Hang in there!

Wow, do I feel your pain! I wonder whether or not I'll get to sleep in this weekend:)

Oh, I think about those things often! Invent that pill for kids someone!!! PLEEEEEAAAASSE!

Hope you get some sleep soon :)

thinking of you- I am a fellow resident of planet Mom. :)

Yes to all! And once you get that pill invented, could you send me three bottles? :)

Patti, since my five year old woke up at three am and my two yr old at four am, yes. Yes, you could be a millionaire with that pill. I will personally make you a millionaire with all the buying I'd do. *grin*

No, I don't worry about what I say on my blog and I don't think about the word 'look'. Maybe I should.
:-) Hope you get some sleep this weekend.

I would say yes to every one of those except the nine o'clock one. I don't recall ever wanting to go to bed once the house is quiet. I guess that's why I'm so tired all the time. Good luck with the painting and writing!

I definitely wonder about my writing ever being good enough or if I have the talent to keep going. Some days it's hard...

YES!!! How did you know???

Good luck on the painting and the book! (I'm thinking of painting, but I keep wondering, when will I finish my revising?)

I feel for you. I have experienced many of those things myself.

yep. a lot of those things resonate with me, too.

Oh, I'll take some of those pills for the kids:) My youngest still doesn't sleep through the night, so I have that joy to deal with:(

Good luck with the painting and hope you get some sleep this weekend.

Even if you took the most polished, published book you could read a chapter and offer suggestions. Most of the time it is just opinions, which is why having more than one beta is essential.

BENADRYL.

Do you like how I think I'm so smart and know everything? I'm tired, too, but I have no games or unpainted surfaces to worry about this weekend.

Mim: There comes a certain point in the day where the mind says no more.

Tina: I hope you get some sleep as well.

Tabitah, Katie & Melissa: apparently benydryl helps in this area.

Candice: I love having a quiet house but with a teenager that doesn't happen until later so I stay up later, hence being tired. It's a vicious cycle.

Dara: I wonder everyday about my writing ability.

Patti said...

Carolyn: I'd still be procrastinating the painting but paint was on sale yesterday and my husband forced me to make a decision.

Southpaw and Lois: Thanks for the sympathy and empathy.

Jessie: My son become immune to benadryl - took too much as a kid because of an allergic reaction to mosquito bites.

Also I love my beta readers, without you guys I'd feel even less ready. I guess there comes a point where you can just over think things.

Patti, great questions.
You sure put together a thought-provoking blog.

Enjoy that basketballing weekend. Do your kids play, or do you just support some teams?

I will be watching the NFL football games with hubby.

Blessings,
patti

Take care, Patti, and have a great weekend.

I think I answered yes to all of those. And I was getting caught up on some of your other posts and just wanted to say that I love "How I met your mother" So funny. Barney makes me laugh.

I have something else for you to ponder:Have you considered writing a sports related story and submitting it as a writing sample for Stone Arch Books? They hire authors and give them topics to write about. They have a whole line of sports based stories. It sounds like you are involved in lots of sports activities and you might be a good fit for them....I have no affiliation, in fact I'm in a folder for future referrence with them. :)

Yes!! I'm just not creative enough to put them into words! (Also, I might use that strong sleeping pill for the puppy... it wouldn't harm him either, right??)

Good luck getting everything done. I'll wish you lots of sleep!

I have two basketball games to watch, and a little girl with a stomach flu. Sigh. Yeah, not getting much done on this end...
