Being Thankful

It's Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend. A time that we spend with our families, eat, visit, eat more, and most importantly remember what we're thankful for.

This year I'm especially thankful for all the regular things:
- A husband whose honest, loving and a great father.
- Wonderful kids who make me laugh and proud.
- The best extended family ever. It's great to live close to people who supportsand care for you.
- I'm grateful for my health, it was a hard summer, but we're slowly getting back to normal.
- Friends who make me laugh and give a shoulder to cry on whenever I need it.
- The fact that both me and my husband have jobs that pay for our house, clothes and food.

One thing that's different this year is the people I'm met through this blog. Ten years ago we wouldn't have had this forum to meet, commiserate and rally around each other. The information that is exchanged is wonderful and I've learned so much these last nine months. It's been great seeing how many people are sharing in my struggles and better yet seeing some of you begin to succeed.

So this year the new thing I'm grateful for is the invention of the BLOG.

I know Thanksgiving is two months away for most of you, but what are you thankful for.

Family. My critique groups and other writer friends.

And the fact that I've been blessed with a good life overall :)

Thanksgiving is this weekend for me, too. I live in southern Ontario. Happy Thanksgiving, Patti! I'll be putting my list of thanks up on my blog on Monday, but I really like that you mentioned the blog. It is a gift, isn't it!!

Great list, Patti. I'm definitely thankful for my husband and two boys, my health, my mind, books and chocolate.

I'm thankful for so many things I can't even begin to list them all. I'll have to do a post on this myself later. Probably in Nov. I'm also thankful for the blogosphere. It's been great getting to know other writers.

I was feeling very thankful for my son just a minute ago while I was watching him sleep. And I'm thankful for my husband, too, but right now I am really loving on my son. He's perfect...except when he's not...and I am thankful for him.

Lovely post. Thanksgiving is this weekend for me, too. My husband is trying out this flattened turkey in brine thing from the Test Kitchens dvd :) I'm thankful for so many things. I like what you wrote about blogging and the blogging community. I've really discovered that this year. And I'm thankful that I've found my writing spirit again - it had been lost to me for far too long!

Natalie: I hope to be saying that next year.

Jessie: It's amazing how you're still thankful for your kids even if they drive you crazy.

Bell: Thanks for coming by, gotta like a fellow Canadian.

Aw, how sweet. It is so nice to have this blogland where we can all commiserate and celebrate together. I don't know how writers of yesteryear did it.

I'm thankful for my family and friends and talents that make me feel a sense of accomplishment and happiness.
